Now that he’s done lacing up his skates, Slovenian hockey star Marián Hossa is looking to unload his Chicago condo—again.
The unit has been on and off the market since last year, and the price has dropped from the original figure of $4.49 million. It’s now listed for $3.15 million with Mary Beth Ryan of LW Reedy Real Estate.
The apartment is located on the city’s near North Side, close to the tony Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods—half a block in from Lake Shore Drive and within walking distance of trendy restaurants and luxe hotels.
The 4,000-square-foot pad in the Belvedere Condos, which the former Blackhawk purchased in 2010 for $2.35 million, features three bedrooms and 3.5 baths.
Nearly every room in the house is decorated in soothing cream and white, with white cabinetry in the kitchen. Two islands—one in the kitchen and another just off the dining room—will help keep traffic flowing during a party.
Perched on the 14th floor, the unit also boasts a terrace from which you can see Lake Michigan, just a few blocks to the east.
The master suite’s soaking tub and stand-alone steam shower (with four nozzles) is built for a tall athlete like Hossa, who is 6-foot-2. Another bath is awash in white marble. And a clotheshorse will adore the walk-in closet, with its custom built-ins for shoes and other fashion accessories.
In 2018, Hossa announced that he was done with the NHL, owing to a skin disorder. He played in the league for nearly 20 seasons, scored over 500 goals, and helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup three times.
