Former NBA All-Star Steve Francis is dribbling away from his huge home in Houston. The mansion is listed for $5 million.

The Maryland native purchased the place in 2003, when he was starring at point guard for the Houston Rockets.

Built in 2002, the 10,780-square-foot home has five bedrooms and 5.5 baths. Now empty, it appears even bigger than it actually is. The grand two-story foyer with crystal chandelier leads to a formal living room. Marble and wood flooring run throughout the first floor.

The dining room includes a wine niche and a fireplace with stone mantel. The chef’s kitchen features granite counters, a six-burner Thermador cooktop, a Sub-Zero fridge and freezer, and two dishwashers.

Opening to a casual family room, the entertaining space continues outside, with a summer kitchen, pool, sport court, and green space.

The downstairs master suite features hardwoods, a tray ceiling, generous bath, and three custom closets with glass-enclosed storage. The secondary bedrooms are en suite.

Other amenities include a home theater, game room, and bonus room. A motor court and four-car garage complete the offering.

Selected second overall in the 1999 NBA draft, Francis, who is now 42, was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in his first season. A three-time NBA All-Star during his time with the Rockets, he also had stints with the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Marilyn S. Martinez holds the listing.
